Now I know the question you’re wondering now. What is the summer symphony? Now before I explain the summer symphony, I will express in the most oversimplified terms the definition of a symphony to which I need to refer to. Now a symphony is a composition of several different musical elements that cohesively work to provide a wonderful experience. So now I must follow through and explain what is the summer symphony. I find the summertime to be the most invigorating time of the year. Now I know this is not the case for everyone, but hear my reasoning. Summer is the time of year when the most outdoor activities are found to take place, most memories are made, and most joy can be shared. As we can see in the winter months, it becomes a time reserved for family where intimacy and togetherness flows naturally from Thanksgiving to Christmas and sometime after. It is on this premise that I find summer to be time for adventures and friends. The Summer Symphony is heard when you’re trying to set a personal record in the gym but your spotter is laughing at you struggle (just enough to get a good laugh, but not enough to maim you), or when you go to a concert with friends and your shoes are ruined with mud but you had a great time, or when you go on a hike and someone trips over the smallest pebble ever seen, or when kayaking and someone falls out the kayak 2 minutes in. The Summer Symphony is made of many different chords such as your strengths, weaknesses, memories and goals. It’s a fusion of all the things that make you who you are so that you can play your part as an instrument in the orchestra of life. It’s not about the crowd of fans or the brash critics, it’s about finding your song and playing it the best way out their your way. Just remember that if there’s no one to witness it then your only doing half the job.
