Now in today’s world, we are implored to follow the social cues set forth by those before us.  We no longer are a “hunter-gatherer” society and so with the evolution of social patterns, our behavior changes.  Everyone gets caught worrying about how to sustain life, then how to improve that quality of life and it doesn’t end as one must now maintain that quality while also improving it.  We become caught up in the job, or competing with celebrities, peers, and strangers.  Competing with strangers? Yes, I know it seems hard to believe but think how many times we say, “I’ll have a better___, than that person.” or “My _____ will be better.”  We begin to neglect the things that do matter such as family, friends, kindness, and compassion.  These priceless items are somehow forgotten or the value dimmed in a world where it seems worries do not end.  So reevaluate the things that matter, cherish that which doesn’t last forever and never take anything for granted. Life is far too short, it’s a brief spark in the night.  Now the title of this entry speaks to what happens comes after (at least to those who believe in that sort of thing).  Life as earlier stated is short and because of that we need to enjoy it but we must also think of the lasting effects.  That is to say one’s legacy, one mark on earth.  How or what does that consist of you ask? It consists of selfless deeds, good memories, random acts of kindness and just spreading love.  It is the intangible that truly shouts with resounding meaning, so remember to cherish the small moments that seem insignificant as they somehow find their way to echo into the beyond.
